Ice Adhesion Test Rig


ICE ADHESION TEST RIG is used to measure the adhesion of ice on different surfaces. The test surface is in the form of a cylinder and ice is formed in an annular space between the test surface and a standard surface. The test cylinder is moved at slow speed and the breakage strength is measured as the adhesion strength of the ice on the test surface. Care is to be taken such that the ice does not break but shears on the test surface.The experiment is to be carried out at sub-freezing temperature and hence the sample is to be cooled. A cooling jacket is provided that can control the sample temperature within 10c from -150c to 00c.

RECIPROCATING SLIDING WEAR AND FRICTION MACHINE / HIGH FREQUENCY FRICTION TEST RIG
M/s Magnum Engineers developed versatile Reciprocating Sliding Wear and Friction Machine / High Frequency Friction Test Rig to test various metals, coatings under reciprocating sliding contact at various load and sliding frequencies, under dry and lubricated (with oil and grease) condition. The test rig is bench mounted self standing with vibration isolators.
A specimen is loaded and then reciprocally slide against a fixed counter body a no. of geometries can be accommodated by using a range of simple clamping fixtures. Ball-on-plate, Pin-on-plate, cylinder and plate, piston-cylinder configuration contact. The oscillating motion is provided by a servo controlled motor an eccentrical power transmission for the adjustment of the stroke. Frictional force & co-efficient of friction which is measured by a piezo-electric transducer. The drop of height of moving specimen relative to the fixed specimen can be measured and data acquired continuously. This measurement gives an indication of the combined wear of bothe surfaces.

    POLYTEST MACHINES : ADVANCED HDT/VICAT SOFTENING POINT SYSTEM



    Product Description
    Ray-Ran's Advanced 4 Station HDT/Vicat Apparatus has been designed to allow microprocessor control of the heat deflection & softening point testing for all polymer and plastic materials.

    HDT
    - Heat deflection / distortion test, where a standard sized test specimen is subjected to a bending stress, whilst the temperature is raised at a uniform rate. The temperature at which the specified deflection occurs is measured and recorded. Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 75 (parts 1, 2 and 3) and ASTM D648 Test Standards.

    Vicat (VST)
    - Softening point test, where a specified needle (indentor) penetrates a specifed distance into a sample with a specified load, whilst the temperature is raised at a uniform rate. The temperature at which the sample was penetrated is recorded at the Vicat Softening Temperature (VST). Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 306 and ASTM D1525 Test Standards.

    The 4 Station Advanced HDT/Vicat apparatus allows testing of 4 samples at the same time, with an automatic cooling system, LCD display to provide automatic prompts for test procedures, calibration and results, HDT binary loads automatically calculated by microprocessor, over temperature protection, flatwise / edgewise sample testing, integrated calibration system.
